Highlight of your career so far:

Being able to headline venues I grew up going to, as well as meeting musicians that I grew up looking up to.

Drumming strengths:

Limb independence, rudiment allocation, linear phrasings.

Drumming means to me:

Drumming is an opportunity to express who I am as a person. Its a creative outlet that offers me the opportunity to grow in passion and skill as I grow as a person. It is also an amazing way to connect with people, whether it be one of my drum students, an instructor that I mentor in teaching, another drummer that I am learning from, or a fan of the band that I get to hang out with.

Advice for up and coming drummers:

Make sure that you are focused and intentional with your practice time! Most people sit to practice, try something new, don't get it immediately and end up defaulting to playing something that they are already good at for the next hour or so. Then, they are done practicing, and didnt get any better. Structure your practice time like you would time spent at the gym! Dedicate small increments of time to specific target areas, and find creative and fun ways to do it!

How would you describe yourself:

I am a freaking nerd. All. Around. Nerd.

When I look back on my life one day, I would like to be able to say:

That I made a positive impact in the world, especially when it comes to music education. I would love to ensure that every kid who wants to learn an instrument has an opportunity to connect and learn with an instructor who has actually been trained in music education instead of paying the same amount of money to a random guy who has no idea what he's doing.
