Highlight of your career so far:
Probably the first support gig we did in 2010 with Them Crooked Vultures. Holding our own alongside John Paul Jones, Dave Grohl and Josh Homme gave us the feeling we had a shot at something of our own in the future. Great experience.
Creating parts that are more concerned with music than drumming
Drumming means to me:
belonging to something that's greater than the sum of it's parts. Collective music.
Advice for up and coming drummers:
Love the drums but love the music more, we need more musicians rather than just more entertainers.
How would you describe yourself:
A touch obsessive and extremely driven
When I look back on my life one day, I would like to be able to say:
That I wasn't afraid to try and make my mark on the world, whatever the consequences.
