With MEINL since:
January 14, 1987
Place of birth:
Currently living in:
1990 (3 years old)
Car that you currently drive:
2006 Scion TC
Not counting on drums what do you do for fun:
I like to ride motorcycles and wakeboard.
IBC Cream Soda
Highlight of your career so far:
Going to Australia and playing in front of a bunch of Aussies and eating Kangaroo.
I try to serve the song, easy playing when needed and complex fills where it doesn't clash with anything else going. I also like to play "along" with the guitars lining up the kick drum with palm mutes or strums to accent and compliment the guitar pattern. When it all comes down to it, I just like to have fun while playing.
Drumming means to me:
Drumming is a gift that I was given at a young age that I not only love, but now get to use as a tool to help spread the word of God.
Advice for up and coming drummers:
Learn the basics and play along with your favorite drummers or favorite bands. Learn the songs, and practice practice practice. Then if you have any way of recording yourself, even if it's on your phone, listen back and critique yourself. Never be content with your playing. Be able to play to more than one type of music too. I'm a metal head but I play along with black gospel music and hip hop. Be as versatile as possible and your chances of making it will be much higher.
How would you describe yourself:
I'm pretty much your typical "dude" who likes riding motorcycles, wakeboarding, grilling out, working on motors, playing video games, etc. Pretty much just your typical guy.
When I look back on my life one day, I would like to be able to say:
Man, those were the good ole days. I'm so glad I decided to pursue my dreams instead of taking that easy job.
