Highlight of your career so far:
There are some important momento in my career, first one: 1991, I was 19 years old and I were choosen to be a member of one of the biggest bands in Cuba (Paulo Fg y su Elite). My first gig in Santiago Bernabeu stadium performing for more than 80.000 people. Appear in the TOP 5 of the best Cuban drummers in Timba Cubana style. Performing in La Rioja Drumming Festival or in Tam Tam Drumfest. Work as a teacher in Berklee Valencia and over all the moment when a huge brand as Meinl has confidence in me.
Drumming strengths:
Musicality, independence and technic.
Drumming means to me:
It´s my life style, it has given all to me. It has made me as musician and person.
Advice for up and coming drummers:
Over all, enjoy playing, music is magic, is happiness and I think it´s the best therapy you can find. Do it 100% rehearshing and playing live. Study and get ready to be better day by day. All efforts come back with the love of the audience and other musicians. Nobody can crash your dream, if you want you can.
How would you describe yourself:
Family man, decicated dad, lover of my work and a good friend. These three thing makes me really happy.
When I look back on my life one day, I would like to be able to say:
I would like to think that I gave everything, talking about art and im my life. That the people I love will be proud of me, not only for my work also for the person I have been. I think musician and person walk together and mustn´t be separated. I will work hard and honestly to make this happen.
