THE 2011 MEINL DRUM FESTIVAL IN RETROSPECT

it's all over now. i got home yesterday. at first without my luggage, but thank god, it was found and delivered to my door a few hours later.

what can i say? this festival has been absolutely overwhelming. 1500+ drummers from all over mexico (even guatemala) had the time of their life. and so had all participating artists as well as the organisational team.

from the bottom of my heart, i would like to thank each and everyone who came to watch the show, all of gonher's staff working so hard and making it possible, our technicians for an extremely professional job, and last but not least our artists who played their a** of: isaias gil, levith vega, derek roddy, carlos sanchez, johnny rabb, thomas lang, chris coleman, and luis conte.

here is just one foto of the event. more can be found on meinldrumfestival.com, or on our meinlcymbals facebook fanpage. check'em out.

we will also start working on the videos soon and publish them asap. so stay tuned. some of the drummers have played the show of their life, all captured on video.

see you all at the 2012 meinl drum festival in gutenstetten, germany again (at least we plan to do one next year).

MEINL DRUM FESTIVAL - THINGS NEVER TURN OUT THE WAY YOU EXPECT

right, they never turn out the way you expect.

tommy clufetos called us yesterday telling that he can't be part of our festival, because he will be busy recoring with ozzy osbourne. we completely understand his situation. ozzy is his main priority. he would be for everyone else too.

however, i had to find a sub right away. after some very urgent and hectic phonecalls, drum superstar johnny rabb agreed to fill in for tommy.

new flights had to be booked. johnny's cymbals and drums had to be arranged. plus a million other little details needed to be changed. and all of that very last minute. now we're ready to go. in just a few hours i will hop on board another flight with service to mexico city were our second international meinl drum festival will take place on july 13. i surely hope that everything will turn out now the way i expect and can not wait for it finally to start.

stay tuned on meinlcymbals.com and on our social media sites for updates. it would be great to see some of you there.
