maybe you remember the banner we gave away a few weeks ago to the "klangwerk musikschule" in schwäbisch hall? the guys sent us a picture of the banner in their school. thanks for the picture and once again, congratulations and have fun with it.

i have been in schwetzingen the last two days to see our artist ralf gustke. he is the drummer for both very popular bands "xavier naidoo" and "soehne mannheims". mtv unplugged produced a show with both acts in the lovely rokokosaal of the castle schwetzingen, which they are going to broadcast on mtv in september. a mtv-unplugged-dvd of both acts is also planned to come out. both concerts lasted five hours total (!!) and we were not allowed to leave the venue. they said that it would not look good on camera if people were walking around during the shoot. nevertheless it has been an awesome concert and ralf demonstrated once again why he is one of the best drummers in europe. watch out for "xavier naidoo - soehne mannheims mtv unplugged" shows in september 2008.

ralf used a nice meinl setup with two custom made cymbals. click on the picture on top to see the full description.

on my way home the next day, a major accident happened on the highway and it got completely shot down for four hours. i stood there and couldn't move back or forth. the fact that there is no speedlimit on german autobahn wasn't worth anything. plus it has been the hottest day of the year so far. not good.

hello norbert!

I\'v got two short questions, maybe you are able to help me out!
I saw some Generation X Marco Minneman Alien hi-hats 10\"on ebay. What are these hi-hats, are they custom made?If so, they are not stamped with the \"Custom Cymbal Shop\" logo, in fact, they are stamped like they are a normal product in the Generation X line. Are these coming out, because they look quite interesting?
The second one...do you make custom cymbals for just everyone?I saw some at a website, custom made for them.If so,what are you charging for them?
Thanks!
Marcus

Sorry, I forgot something...
What happend to some of the videos on here, they are like, gone?

norbert posted on Jul 04, 2008 - 10:14 AM

hi marcus,
the hihats you saw on ebay were marco\'s signature hihats we made back then when marco was still endorsing our cymbals. available have been an 8\" - 10\" and 12\" alien hihat. when marco changed cymbal company, we stopped making them. the hihats you saw on ebay are from back then.
whether or not we make custom cymbals depends on what the customer wants to have. there is no general extra charge for a custom cymbal, it always depends on the individual case. again, first we must know what the customer has in mind for the cymbal, then we decide whether or not we make it, and what it would cost. in any case, the deal has to be made through a dealer. we are not selling directly.
and last but not least, we had to take down some of the videos from our site for several reasons. we are working on getting them back on the site as soon as possible.
greetings - and have a great weekend marcus :-)

Can you tell me if it\'s worth to get these hats?I have absolutely no idea how they sound, but they look really interesting!
And well, I really like the Bycance Dark rides. I wonder if it\'s possible to make some Dark Flat rides? If so, maybe you can give me a quote?
Thanks, and, oh...I wish you a great weekend too, Norbert!

hello marcus, i think that totally depends on what style of music you want to play with them? all three have a signicifant sound. the 8\" and 10\" are very sharp and cutting. the 12\" has jingles attached to the bottom (if they havent fallen of yet), so their sound also sticks out from all other cymbals. they are great effect hats thats for sure.
about the dark-flat-ride: from which dealer do you normally buy your cymbals?

marcus posted on Jul 07, 2008 - 22:43 PM

Well, I just bought the 10\" Alien hats for 90 USDollars, I think thats a deal?-usually buy my cymbals from \"Musik Produktiv Wiener Neustadt\" bei Wien, da fällt mir gerade ein das ich ja gar nicht englisch reden muss! :) hehe...

norbert posted on Jul 08, 2008 - 8:56 AM

yes, we could talk in german too, but then nobody else would understand it. so lets keep on using english. congrats to the alien hats. i will be in touch about the flat ride later on.

Hi Norbert. I just have a short question.
My Meinl Byzance 22\" Heavy ride cracked the other day. I\'m afraid I don\'t have receipts but was wondering if Meinl could fix it for a fee. Its item Number is 50409019. I also wanted to complement your great company. Its awesome!

norbert posted on Feb 21, 2009 - 20:46 PM
