Concept Model Ride for Peter Wildoer

This is a new 22" concept model ride which made for our Swedish artist Peter Wildoer. It is based on a Mb20 Heavy Bell Ride and thinned out towards the outer edge which gives it a bit more crash-ability.

Going to send it to him this week lets see how he is going to like it.

Take a look at this stunningly looking cymbal that Meinl Cymbals made for me. It's a 22" concept custom model ride that I did the guidelines for. I wanted something with a heavy cutting bell, dry stick sound closer to the bell and "jazzier" open sound with crash-ability towards the edge. If this beauty sounds just half as good as it looks like I will be the luckiest drummer alive later this week when I get it!!! Thank you so much Meinl Cymbals and Norbert Saemann for making this possible. For those of you who want to se it in real life make sure to come to the MEINL DRUM FESTIVAL 2013 in Gothenburg, Sweden on November 2nd where I will be performing.

This is a great concept, this cymbal could be the definitive option for heavy drummers (and not only them) that require great ping and bell with crash possibilities-
Good job Peter and Meinl-can't wait to try it.

That's my thoughts Mirkko. I wanted a cymbal with clear and cutting bell, really good and dry stick definition when played with the tip of the stick closer to the bell and then a more open "jazzier" sound when played closer to the edge then also the possibility to crash it. So eager to hear what it sounds like!!!

Peter, that's the holy grail for tasty metal drummers eheheh
Well done- Also, Norbert is an ace!

This is absolutely awesome! Trully the best between two worlds; bold and penetrating bell - bright sound and a lil bit dry + washy, crash-able section. Different areas for different stick definitions as well.

Superb work, Peter and Norbert! I am really looking forward to play this baby in person..

Cheers! :)

I'm really liking these "dual ride" type ideas I've been seeing from Meinl lately. I just purchased a 20" and 22" dual ride and I can't wait until they arrive. I know they sound awesome. And this beauty with the brilliant bell has without a doubt caught my interest. I'd love to hear one!

MB20 alloy...'mirror'-bell...crashable...earthy midpart... There is just nothing I can't like about this cymbal. I'd definitely like to hear a demo of this one!
