SHADOWS FALL TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM – “RETRIBUTION” – ON SELF-CREATED LABEL, EVERBLACK INDUSTRIES
NEW ALBUM ART, TRACK LISTING REVEALED

SHADOWS FALL are proud to announce Retribution as the title of their fifth full-length album, which is set for a September 15 street date. The album, a follow-up to 2007’s critically acclaimed Threads of Life, will be released on the band’s own label, Everblack Industries, which was created in conjunction with Warner Music Group’s ILG, Ferret Music, and ChannelZERO Entertainment. The blistering new album was produced by Zeuss (Hatebreed, Municipal Waste), with vocal production by Elvis Baskette (Incubus, Alter Bridge).

Singer Brian Fair commented on the band’s venture: “We learned everything from the ground up. We’ve gone through the independent metal world to the major label world, and have come to realize that, given the way things are now, it’s all about the band re-taking control of everything: music, business, ownership, publishing. The result is Retribution - a collection of songs that showcase the versatility and vision of this band that only seems to get better over time.

On June 21st Meinl Artist Thomas Lang took part in the charity concert "Amiche per l'Abruzze" for the victims of the recent earthquake in the Italian region "Abruzzi". He played with Italien singer Gianna Nanninni who headlined the concert.

60,000 people showed their support in the San Sire Stadium in Milan, Italy.

Congratulations to Meinl Artist Wolfgang Haffner who has just received the prestigious "German Jazz Award" for his album "Shapes".

On June 14th 2009, Meinl Cymbal Artist Wolfgang Haffner performed at the annual summer party of Germany's Musikhaus Thomann in Treppendorf. He played a 15min warm-up performance on the main stage, followed by a 2hrs in depth workshop for a select group of enthusiastic drummers.

Wolfgang used a set of Byzance Jazz Series cymbals which he signed after his workshop and which can now be seen on display in the drum department of Musikhaus Thomann.

Meinl Cymbal artist Brad Morgan, more affectionately known to his friends and fans as EZB, and his band the Drive By Truckers, teamed up last year for a legendary recording session with the legendary Booker T. Jones. The result is the recently released, critically acclaimed album Potato Hole.

A bit on Booker T...

With Booker T. and the MGs he led one of the first-ever integrated groups to soul immortality. As a producer, he has helmed sessions for million sellers. On April 21, 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Booker T wrote the boldest, most dramatic chapter of his fifty year career with the release of his searing new album Potato Hole, on Anti- Records.

With backing from the Drive-By Truckers and guitar contributions from Neil Young on nine of the album's ten tracks, Potato Hole is the rawest, funkiest music Booker T has recorded since his archetypal hit Green Onions. Booker T plays organ, acoustic and electric guitar on Potato Hole and wrote seven of the album's songs. Potato Hole was recorded last fall in Georgia and California and produced by Booker T and Rob Schnapf.

Booker T will tour extensively in support of Potato Hole. A Saturday, June 13 date with the Drive By Truckers (Which Stage / 2:30pm) at the famed US Festival Bonnaroo has been confirmed.

Booker T was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 with his group The MGs. In 2007 he earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. His production credits include Bill Withers' debut album Just As I Am, and Willie Nelson's Stardust.

Meinl Cymbal artist Moe Carlson, of the new prog masters Protest the Hero, will be giving a clinic at Steve's Music in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Friday, June 05 at 6:00pm. Steve's Music is located at 415 Queen St. West. 

Don't miss this one, as Moe is rapidly becoming known as one of the most musical progressive rock/metal/punk drummers on the scene today!
