Matt Marquez Joins The Meinl Cymbal Team

Meinl Cymbals welcomes Matt Marquez to its family of cymbal artists. Matt currently slams the skins for Haste The Day, a serious post-hardcore metal outfit from Indianapolis, Indiana, who over the last seven years have established a name for themselves touring across the country and selling over 200,000 records stateside. While Matt himself is from Southern California, he just recently joined the band and is tearing it up on the road while on tour.

Welcome Matt!

Indian Dealers at Meinl Factory

One day before Musikmesse starts some Indian dealers and our distributor were visiting our factory and logistic center in Gutenstetten.

"A great and big thanks to all the stuff and the management of Meinl for the great care and trouble taken in looking after us and wonderfully showing us the entire cymbal manufacturing line", comments Pierre Fernandes from Goa. "It was definitely a great experience and really wonderful to see the precision and care taken whilst manufacturing. The percussion display was wonderful too. Thanks to all once again".

Jason Bittner And Burning Human Set To Release Debut Album

Meinl Cymbal Artist Jason Bittner and his New York-based extreme metal band BURNING HUMAN have completed work on their debut album, Resurrection Through Fire. The record will drop on April 21st, 2009 via E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records).

Resurrection Through Fire administers ten frighteningly intense tracks of underground death metal that inflict lethal doses of crushing brutality, relentless speed and blast-furnace vocal power with a surgical precision.

In support of Resurrection Through Fire, Burning Human has announced a number of U.S. live performances including a special appearance at the 2009 New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, where the band will share the stage with LAMB OF GOD, NAPALM DEATH, SUFFOCATION and more amongst the fest’s featured acts.

On the topic of the album, Bittner comments, “After 10 years lying in a dormant state, I am quite excited about that fact that Burning Human is finally going to release Resurrection Through Fire with a proper label, and will back it with live dates! This band really never got a proper chance way back in the day, due mostly in part to my constant search for a "touring band." Fast forward to 2009, and obviously my "touring band" desires are well taken care of with Shadows Fall, and since we won’t be busy until later this year, I now have some time to really dedicate myself to Burning Human. I'm extremely happy with this record. I'm really proud of the music and the performances and I hope the people out there will enjoy it as well!"

Burning Human tour dates:

April
17 - Worcester, Massachusetts - Worcester Palladium (As part of the 2009 New England Metal and Hardcore Festival)
21 - Schenectady, New York - Drome Sound (Drum Clinic with Jason Bittner and Special Guest Performance by Burning Human)
25 - Clifton Park, New York - Northern Lights (CD Release with special guests Skinless, Brick By Brick and more)

May
15 - Manchester, New Hampshire - Rocko’s
16 - Poughkeepsie, New York - The Chance
17 - Holyoke, Massachusetts - Water Front Tavern

Dragonforce drummer Dave Mackintosh joins Meinl cymbals

Meinl announces the addition of Dave Macintosh, drummer for U.K. superstars Dragonforce, to its family of endorsing artists

"When Dave checked out our new Soundcaster Fusion cymbals, he was hooked by their sound," comments Meinl's international artist relations manager Norbert Saemann. "We are very proud that he is now a part of our artist family and are looking forward to having a great time working with him and his band."

Dave has gained valuable experiences performing and recording with plenty of bands throughout the years, which have enabled him able to cope with the extreme speed and intensity of Dragonforce. Based in London, England, the band has released their latest record, Ultra Beatdown in 2008, which hit the Top 20 charts in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Singapore and the Top 10 in Japan. They have been nominated for a Grammy Award for the Best Metal Performance and can currently be seen on tour in Europe and Asia. In addition to all of these accomplishments, Dave and Dragonforce are featured in the insanely popular video game, Guitar Hero III: Legens of Rock, with their song Through the Fire and Flames, which is known as one of the video franchise's songs to master because of its extreme technical difficulty.

Dave plays Meinl Soundcaster Fusion, Soundcaster Custom, Mb20, Mb10, and Generation X cymbals exclusively. He also uses Meinl Drummer Gloves.
