Forrest Robinson Joins the Meinl Cymbal Family

Meinl Cymbals is pleased to welcome Forrest Robinson to its family of cymbal artists. Forrest is currently on the road in support of international Japanese superstar Utada. He is also known for his work with India.Arie, Jiva, and OViD.

Growing up playing Gospel, Blues, Rhythm & Blues, and Country in Memphis, TN, Forrest has always excelled at any style that he puts his mind to. His ability to lay down the solid groove and silky feel is truly world-class.  Forrest's gifts and skills behind the drum set are surpassed only by his gifts and skills as a human being. Truly one of the nicest people out there, Forrest is a guy that values relationships. Whether it's a relationship with his art (drumming!), or with his fellow man, Forrest is always looking for the most direct of connections. That's why he chose Meinl. Forrest had to have a connection not only with his cymbals, but also with a company and its people.

Andy Horst of This Providence Joins The Meinl Cymbal Family

Meinl Cymbals welcomes Andy Horst of This Providence to its family of cymbal artists.

Coming from Seattle, Washington, Andy and This Providence are a part of the modern day Indie-Pop movement that blends trance-like rhythms with solid melodies and harmonies that stick in your head and never let go. Despite their young age, these guys could easily fit in with the best of the harder rocking 1980's pop tunes.

Andy backs it all up with drumming that's tasteful and solid, never stepping in the way of the intent of the song.

Introducing the Generation X Series Mike Terrana Signature Attack Stacks from Meinl Cymbals

Based on an idea by long-time Meinl Artist Mike Terrana, these two effect stacks feature an aggressive, loud and cutting high-pitched sound.

That Attack Stack is an interesting trademark sound that you can hear on many of the CD's I have recorded the past 12 years. says Mike. He mainly uses them to accent the kicks played during bassdrum patterns. They are perfect for a short and cutting effect sound that needs to be heard.

Available are a 6/8 inch and 6/10 inch stack.

Nathan recently made the switch to Meinl because, as he says, "there's always been something I've loved about the sound." Playing what you play because you love it...the best reason of all.

Propelling Hit the Lights with his tight, deep grooves, Nathan plays with an infectious character that enhances the melodies that are such a big part of the band.  A seasoned road veteran, Nathan has been on the road for the last ten years, playing with his main squeeze, Hit the Lights, and also filling in on the drum chair in bands such as 3oh3, Hawthorne Heights, and Cute Is What We Aim For.
