Aaron Gillespie Solo Album "Anthem Song" Out Now!
Meinl Cymbal artist Aaron Gillespie's new solo album "Anthem Song" is out now.
Despite public outcry, Aaron left his former band Underoath on good terms in 2010, pursuing a cleaner alternative rock sound as lead singer of The Almost, a band that has registered 21 million plays on MySpace, gained MTV2 airplay, and recently toured with Switchfoot. Even as The Almost continues its rise, Gillespie makes another sudden turn, doing Anthem Song alone. Why?
“I’ve always wanted to make a straight-up worship record like this. The Almost is a rock band, and we didn’t want to mix the two styles. Of course, it’s all worship; your shift at Starbucks should be worship. But this just seemed to be the way to do it right now,” Aaron begins to explain. “I have this desire to see our generation worshiping God. But a lot of the people I get to meet through music—kids with tattoos and swoop over haircuts—don’t think of worship as ‘cool.’ I want them to find a home and a vocabulary to experience this kind of music.”
Gillespie, who lives in central Florida, recorded Anthem Song in Seattle with versatile producer Aaron Sprinkle (Jeremy Camp, Kutless). Both multi-instrumentalists, they played everything on the album themselves except for several piano parts added by worship leader Shane Anderson. Co-writers Paul Baloche, Sarah Hart, and Phillip LaRue also helped pen what is largely a very personal record about adoring God, worshiping Him “because He is and because you are; just because you woke up today.”

Youtube Drummers Jimmy Kadesch and Luke Holland Join the Meinl Cymbal Family
Meinl Cymbals is pleased to welcome two of youtube's fastest rising drumming sensations to its roster of artists.
Jimmy Kadesch and Luke Holland, both excellent drummers who have made quite the name for themselves on youtube have chosen Meinl Cymbals as their instrument of choice.
Jimmy Kadesch, a native of the US Northeast and a Berklee School of Music graduate, has knocked out viewers with his incredible musical drumming. With a flair for originality that is only matched by his fun-loving sense of humor, Jimmy's drumming videos are incredibly entertaining to watch. While not wowing folks with his online solo drumming, Jimmy spends time playing with his band Sincerely The Management.
Luke Holland, a native of Phoenix, AZ is turning massive heads with his killer skills. Only 17 years old, Luke is a sick drummer who already has over 34,000 subscribers to his youtube page. Clean, slick grooves, punctuated by exciting fills are hallmarks of Luke's playing. Luke has filled in for tech-extreme metal upstarts Texas In July, a national band who tours with bands such as This Or The Apocalypse and For Today, both bands whose drummers are Meinl Cymbal artists.
Welcome to Jimmy and Luke!
