Very informative. I myself am trying to get some meinl gear, but NOBODY in my area has any to test out. Same goes with Axis pedals for my size 15 feet.
Which Reminds me; why do you use the pedals you use now?
Hope you are doing well, Chris. Hope the break you guys take serves you well.

-The guy who brought you drum pedals the day before Ozzfest ' guy

You rule man!!
What makes it all good is that you base some of your inspiration on Gar...I base my inspiration on drumming on you..and yea!! Gar was a great drummer!! perhaps the best of his time, in my opinion!
I LOVE L.O.G and MegadetH!!
Keep on rockin chris!!
see you next tour!

No matter what genre of music you listen to, you have to have a ton of respect for Chris Alder. He is hands down one of the best ever.

i love lamb of god and chris is a great drummer but he gets really boring. he does the same thing every song.with the kicks and the snare. its always slow double bass etc etc

Tasha posted on Feb 18, 2008 - 1:09 AM

Chris and his awesome beard rock so much. <333 ^^ And IMHO, I never get bored of his drumming! But hey, I'm no expert. :D Love you Chris!

(I can't get over how awesome his beard and hair are. hee. :D)

And where can I get that hoody?!

You're amazing and so is Lamb of God. You promised to come back to Dallas, TX after the new album comes out so can't wait to see you back! Bring us another great album.

Trent posted on Feb 18, 2008 - 8:14 AM

hey chris, first amazing creativity you put out on every thing you do.
but just wondering, you never mentioned.
about how many hours would you play a day when you took that semester off and stuff?

Tox posted on Feb 18, 2008 - 22:09 PM

Hey! I was just wondering why does Lamb Of God perform in Europe so rarely?
In Estonia, Latvia and Finland there are SO many fans of Lamb Of God who would like to see You performing in Estonia. Would You please consider coming to perform here? I promise that You won't be disappointed.

Chris' sickest songs, in my opinion, are ...

In Defense of Our Good Name from As The Palaces Burn
Now You Have Something to Die For and Remorse is For the Dead from Ashes of the Wake
Forgotten (Lost Angels) from Sacrament. The drumming on these songs are absolutely clutch! Chris is the man!

zilban posted on Sep 01, 2008 - 1:04 AM

Geese, where to start?

Well first off, Chris, you and LoG are flippin' amazing! I love you guys, you're my favorite band and I hope you come to Calgary, AB someday so I can see you guys in concert and get a picture or some shirts.

(Just in case, if you do come to calgary, don't have an outdoor concert, we have a sound bylaw so it would prevent you from playing music over 65 decibles :P, so if you do come to calgary, have an indoor concert, like, at McEwan Ballroom or the saddle dome)

I like your perspective about drumming and music
and I don't even listen to Lamb of God. This detail In my opinion makes you a real musician, you got me just with your words and your way of seeing things.

Thanks for the inspiration

Man, you are one of the reasons I love playing drums, I sit and listen to LoG for hours trying to figure out what you are doing. I'd say you are probably my main influence, aside from Joey Jordison maybe but I like to combine both your styles.

Chris, you f***ing rock man \m/

drummeronthejazz posted on Mar 13, 2009 - 1:19 AM

do the longboard tricks basically get the sweet spot of the pedal in a better paying location in relation to the snare etc

Hey Chris, I'm just wondering how tall you are, no one quite knows, it has remained a mystery for a long time. Also you're the reason i got into drumming in the first place dude, you fucking rock!!
Laid to rest is one of the first songs i learned to play on drums, and it's still my favorite song to play to this day.

What china cymbal does chris use to his right? When I met him and asked him he said it was a 17 inch byzance traditional china. Yet there is no meinl 17 inch traditional china...

John posted on Nov 02, 2009 - 4:13 AM

Wow, I can't imagine how much you practice a week. I'm looking to build a mapex kit but I don't know what meinl cymbals should I use, I'm trying to build the same kit that you have, but what series meinl cymbals should I use? I ya I saw you play with metallica in Toronto the 27 that was amazing I thought you guys should have headlined that show. So ya what cybals do you like the best?
