Chris Adler is an amazing drummer, don't get me wrong, he is one of my biggest influences, but all his songs on Sacrement is almost all the same pattern. gallop - snare - gallop - snare.

I agree the drum patterns for Sacrament were a bit repetitive. But at the same time, I respect what he did to the song because he took a more thrash/new metal outlook on the songs instead of the signature accented material as he's known for. I mean, listen to his progression process as the albums became more intense.....New American Gospel was an awesome crazy album. But compared to its following album As The Palaces Burn, the drumming became only better and he had incorporated more accents and odd beats. But the turning point to me for the tone down on the accents was the beginning of Ashes of the Wake and Sacrament. I'm extremely interested in the up-coming album on what kind of trend in the drumming he's going to take. Cannot wait!

Dudes, whatever chris plays , its simply the best !! and about what u say about the repetetive thing in sacrament, well if he sees that that the right way to play themis this way then it is !!

Trey posted on Apr 25, 2008 - 20:42 PM

Yeah it is kind of repetetive but when he starts with the double beat after 1:35 it is awesome sounding. I know its not some super wierd beat but it's still cool sounding.

Notice how he positions his snare. Do others of you recommend this for speed? I keep mine flat, but I tend to really miss a lot going into rolls on my first tom. Any suggestions?

I have finally found a stysem that works for me. I have two files set up on my desk top computer and an external hard drive and they are labeled Family Photos and db Images. When I download my photos they all go onto the desk top computer first and sorted into the appropriate file (Family or Professional). I go through the desk top files and purge the ones that are hopeless (right after downloading them). Once this is done I send the files to my external hard drive. From this step I go on to the next step .I have two very powerful flash drives one for the Family Photos and One for db Images I copy the external files to each appropriate flash drive. I store the Family Photo (these are categorized by Year/Event/Date) flash drive for future use such as developing and putting in an album but the db Images flash drive I process on my lap top. I do a second purge on the db images flash drive only the ones I plan on selling/blogging/manipulating etc. go on this drive the best of the best if you will. Then I send them to their appropriate categories Animals/Flowers and Plants/Insects/Boats/Birds etc. that way when I want a particular photo I know where it is easy access and I have three locations where photos are saved (I eventually delete the ones on the desk top after transferring them to a CD just because I am anal like that). And nothing is saved on my laptop. I work with my family history and I have a huge amount of photos dating back decades so I have had to find a manageable stysem For me, it is all about easy access. Hope this helps.
