Meinl Cymbal artist Mike Johnston goes off the cuff with an impromptu drum solo during a photo shoot at The Factory in Franklin, TN.

It's crazy to hear Mike just "play" because he's always teaching. I have a whole new respect for him.

Amazing feel. Are you guys going to have video lessons from him as well? His lessons are the best on the web.

I can honestly say that his kit sounds better (i know, irrelevant) but Mike is such a creative and flavorful drummer, that latin feel with those new cymbals just sounded explosive. With those cymbals, the latin style had a totally diferent feel to it than it would have with say zildjian or paiste.

It's so cool to see Mikey just playing drums. I love his lessons but it's fun to watch him just jam too.
Peace,

Of these 3 things I am certain: 1) Christopher Nolan belongs behind a camera , 2) Jason Statham belongs behind a steering wheel, and 3) Mike Johnston belongs behind a drum set.

Awesome sounds Mike, those cymbals do make you a different drummer in my opinion.
It's an honor to be one of your students!
