meet the artist Roan Segers

Roan Segers (29 September 1973, NL) joined the local drum band at the age of nine, but soon longed for something more. The local music school was the obvious, most sensible next step and there he discovered the drum kit. After some years he joined the drum school of Juan van Emmerloot, who introduced him to a completely different way of teaching. In 1997 he became a teacher at this school and because of the busy tour schedule of Juan, the drum school got taken over and changed into ‘The Drumbiznizz’ in September 2000. The Drumbiznizz has been providing lessons for the drum department of Music’scool in The Netherlands since 1999, and under the name of Music-Clinic they give and are involved in various workshops and shows.

In 2012 Roan moved to Denmark and started a private music school, Music'scool, in Roskilde that opened its doors in 2017. 

Besides teaching Roan played in bands as 'Goofy and the Regulars' (NL), 'Nubik' (NL) with Edwin Balogh and the well-known Dutch band 'Abel' (NL) with Joris Rasenberg. As well as playing in bands and teaching, he provides the drum and percussion parts for album recordings of various artists. Currently Roan plays the drums in the Danish band ‘OK ECHO‘ (DK).
